Every year around now, the USP team start to gather together festive inspiration in order to forecast for next Christmas. Such is the life of a trend forecaster – never living in the present – always looking to the future. Which can make shopping quite difficult, as the thing/theme I have in my head often doesn’t exist.
Three years ago I wanted a pink Christmas tree – which I’ve now classically gone off – and last year it was a sparkly brown one with earthy coloured decs.
It’s interesting to look back at what we predicted for Christmas 2025 and see if
A. Its come true.
B. I still like it.
I can confirm that both apply, phew – and we have started to see our trends come to life in the shops.
Colour is my starting point when it comes to well – anything actually. I don’t believe defining people by age or consumer type – as I think we are all a mash up of lots of things. But colour does help when making style choices, with some of us more confident than others, when it comes to embracing bold colour. By bold, I don’t always mean bright – although I do LOVE brights – for me it’s more about interesting combinations, often using pared down neutrals to act as a base and add contrast.
Ahead of our Holiday 26 trend report & free webinar (register here) the USP team have picked their Christmas Wishlist of lifestyle & fashion products – organised by colour theme of course!
Mine are very much inspiration boards but I have added a list of my favourite sites for both gifting and self gifting (a form of self care no?). But Laura, Charlotte and Abi have very helpfully provided links to their picks:
