An edition of children’s classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carrol, illustrated by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. This collaboration is extremely successful and complimentary, with central themes from the story reflected in Kusama’s illustrations and own personal story.
Since childhood, Kusama has been afflicted with a condition that makes her see spots, which means she views the world in a surreal, almost hallucinogenic way, fitting with the tone of the book. She is fascinated by childhood and the way adults have the ability, at their most creative, to see things the way children do.
