Pre Fall 16: Gia Coppola film for Gucci

Gucci’s The Myth Of Orpheus and Eurydice, Part One – The Wedding by Gia Coppola from Exposure NY on Vimeo.

Director Gia Coppola has updated the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in a film for Gucci – setting the action in the lower east side of Manhattan.

A bold combination of fashion film and narrative the four video series showcases the Gucci pre-Fall collection and includes French singer-songwriter Lou Doillon as Eurydice alongside model/actor/photographer Marcel Castenmiller as Orpheu.

Alessandro Michele created a specially made bridal outfit in netted pink tulle with embroidered butterflies, which Stylist for the shoot, Oscar-nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips, described as “one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever had the privilege of working with.”

USP: Innovative brands continue to use film as a way to create a narrative around clothing.
